REVIEW: Nikon D90 Review – calanan (Photography Review)

Posted on Wednesday, May 27, 2009 in Reviews

The Nikon D90 is Nikon’s latest mid-range digital single lens reflex (DSLR) camera and the world’s first DSLR to offer high-definition video capture. The D90’s 12-megapixel APS-sized CMOS sensor also ups the high-ISO ante with very low noise up to – and in some situations, beyond – ISO 800. -calanan

omewhere in the world, there may be a photographer more attuned to the human condition than David duChemin, but I doubt it.
Somewhere in the world, there may be a photographer more adept at capturing the beauty in this world than David duChemin, but I doubt it.

REVIEW: Tamron 10-24mm f/3.5-4.5 Di-II LD SP AF Aspherical [IF] Zoom Review: Field Test Report

Posted on Wednesday, May 27, 2009 in Reviews
Viewed 32 times

Since the vast majority of digital SLR cameras employ a relatively small sensor, there’s a definite need for very short lenses for an expansive angle of view. Hence, Tamron’s highly-rated 11-18mm f/4.5-5.6 Di II zoom has been a best seller among serious photo enthusiasts who appreciate ultra wide angle images. In my tests, that zoom produced beautiful results, but the new 10-24mm model is even better in some respects. -Peter K. Burian

Affectionately known as the ”Bigma,” this lens boasts a 10x zoom range, one of the largest available. Not sure who Kelby Training is and what their classes include? Then this must be your first time to my blog. So let me just start off by saying welcome to Pursuing Photoshop.

Kelby Training, which from here on out will be refereed to as Kelby T. Has not only Photoshop classes. They have some Dreamweaver going on, sprinkled with some Indesign. Not to mention they have classes for Photographers, and don’t worry video people they have stuff for you too. There really is just too much stuff for me to cover or mention in this review. It is just something you will have to check out for yourself. -Mitzs

REVIEW: Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T900 Review – Cliff Smith (TrustedReviews)

The price of digital cameras has dropped dramatically over the past few years, and today there aren’t too many compact cameras that cost over £300. The ones that do are a pretty select bunch. There are a couple of super-zoom models such as the extraordinary Casio EX-F1 or the Nikon P90, and some high-spec semi-pro cameras such as the Ricoh GR Digital II, Sigma DP1 and Canon G10, not to mention the beautiful Panasonic LX3 and its counterpart the massively overpriced Leica D-Lux 4 (basically an LX3 with a Leica badge and an extra £150 on the price). -Cliff Smith

If your idea of a scanner is an A4 flatbed for transferring old photo prints, the ScanStation 500 will come as something of a surprise. It’s intended for business rather than home use and isn’t even designed to be connected to a PC. Instead, you connect one scanner to your network and just about anybody can use it, for a variety of different tasks. -Simon Williams

REVIEW: Photo Book Review – Photoshop CS4 Workflow: the Digital Photographer’s Guide

Posted on Wednesday, May 27, 2009 in Books

Let there be no mistake about it. Photoshop (PS) is not an easy program to use, with all those menus, tools and panels. Yet anyone who aspires to master digital photography had better learn how to use Photoshop. The problem is compounded by lots of goldilocks-like books that are either too simple or too complex for someone just beginning to learn the program. What’s a photographer to do? -Conrad J. Obregon

I’ve been using flash modifiers literally since I was a teenager. I’ve made my own and bought just about every conceivable retail modifier made – but as of this year, I’ve dumped almost everything but my HonL stuff. Here’s why… -Scott Bourne

REVIEW: Casio Exilim EX-Z1 Review – Cliff Smith (TrustedReviews)

Posted on Wednesday, May 27, 2009 in Reviews

Although Casio has recently launched a couple of unusual super-zoom cameras, the Exilim EX-F1 and the EX-FH20, as well as the high-performance 5x zoom compact EX-FC100, the core of its business has long been the common 3x zoom ultra-compact camera. Recent examples have included the 9.1-megapixel EX-Z19 and EX-Z85, and the 8.1-megapixel EX-Z80 launched last year. Casio has just launched another 3x zoom compact, this time with a 10.1-megapixel sensor, the Exilim EX-Z1. -Cliff Smith
